HOLDHOP

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 August 2026

Information Collection

HoldHop is a game for iPhone, iPad and Android. It has no account and no sign-up, and you can play all of it without sending us anything at all. This policy covers both versions; where they differ, it says so.

Your progress is saved on your device and nowhere else: your high score, coins, which skins, themes, hats and trails you have unlocked and which you have equipped, your sound settings, and the total time you have played. Deleting the app deletes all of it, and we cannot see it.

The one thing the game sends anywhere is a leaderboard entry, and it stays switched off until you choose a name for it. Once you do, each finished run sends three things: the name you chose (up to 12 characters, shown publicly to anyone playing HoldHop), a random identifier the app generates so that your own runs collapse into a single row instead of filling the board, and your score. That identifier is created by the app, is not your device's advertising identifier, and is not linked to any account. Please do not use your real name, and do not put anything private in it.

HoldHop is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Information Use

The leaderboard data is used to show the leaderboard. That is the whole of it. We do not profile you with it, and we do not send you marketing.

Ads in the game are served by Google AdMob, which uses device and usage information to select and measure them. Purchase records are used only to unlock what you bought and to restore it on your other devices.

Information Sharing

HoldHop uses a few outside services, and each one gets only what it needs. Supabase stores the leaderboard rows on our behalf. Google AdMob serves the ads, and may collect device identifiers and usage data to select and measure them. RevenueCat records which purchases an install owns so that Restore Purchases works; it never receives your payment details, because the payment is processed by Apple on iPhone and iPad and by Google Play on Android, and neither shares them with us. On iPhone and iPad only, Apple Game Center handles its own leaderboards if you are signed in to it; the Android version has no Game Center integration.

We do not sell your personal information.

Your Choices

Tracking: on iPhone and iPad, iOS asks your permission before HoldHop can use your advertising identifier for tracking. Say no and the game plays exactly the same, you just see less relevant ads. You can change your answer any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. Android does not have that prompt; instead you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings > Privacy > Ads.

Consent in Europe: in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland you are asked to consent before any personalised advertising happens. You can reopen that form and change your answer at any time from Ad Privacy in the game's own settings.

Ads: a one-time in-app purchase removes the full-screen ads entirely.

Deleting your data: everything on your device goes when you delete the app. Your leaderboard entry does not, because it lives on the server. Email us with the subject Delete my leaderboard entry, tell us which name to remove, and we will delete that row within 30 days. There is no account to close, because HoldHop does not have accounts. To stop posting scores without deleting anything, clear your name on the leaderboard screen. The support page sets out exactly what is deleted and what is kept.

If you are in the EEA or the UK you have the right to access, correct, delete, or object to our use of your personal data, and to complain to your national data protection authority.

Changes to Policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will post the updated version on this page and change the date below it. Where the law requires your consent for something, we will ask you again rather than rely on a changed page.
